Access Hollywood and E! Entertainment decided to merge their operations into NBCU’s Universal City headquarters with the purpose of sharing studio production and resources. The result is a fully 4k workflow with a very flexible network linking the various stages, editing bays, production studios, and storage facilities. E! Entertainment and Access Hollywood utilize their new production spaces on the 19th and 20th floors of NBCU headquarters to gather, edit, and produce footage for their shows. The footage is then saved to a centralized storage server in the Brokaw News Center (1/2 mile away) via a mile of fiber cabling. Stages G and H (ground floor) tie into this same storage server for more production capabilities, with vocal booths on the 20th floor linked to Stage H to allow for audio recording flexibility in either location.
